Shasta Lake 2018

We got a much bigger boat for 2018. It had a whole third top deck with a locked gate. It was kind of like a built in play pen. There was still a hot tub, but there was also a big wet bar on the second deck. There were more rooms and a different layout for the kitchen.
We had a blast. Leading up to the trip we were very concerned it would get cancelled. There were HORRIBLE fires all around the lake. The air quality was terrible, but we were able to drive to boat to areas that were not as impacted by heavy smoke.

Best of all everyone was able to attend, including Carleen's fiance Dan. Elysia brought a friend too. We spent a ton of time swimming an jumping off the boat and floating. I didn't take nearly as many pictures, but I enjoyed being in the water 90% of the time.

Added bonus, my Dad brought his boat this year, so we were able to go out and pull around the floats.

It was SUPER smoky out on the lake

Dragon flies saturated the skies...probably trying to get away from the smoke

The smoke did make from some beautiful sunsets

Deer were flocking to the shores. We probably shouldn't have, but we were throwing them scraps of our veggies and fruits.

Gracefully trying to get back onto the boat after riding on the inner tube

Brayden and Mitchel falling off...

Brent is in the air...

Carleen and Dan catching a big one...

Brent was sabotaging my hold on the float...I ended up in the water having to swim in for about a half a mile

There were a lot of helicopters either getting water from the lake or surveying the fire

Emmett got to spend way more time in the lake this year. He still loves the water

Our floating village

I brought the puzzle I got for my birthday. We finished in a number of hours....coming and going

the water was low and there were tons of frogs around this area where the plants were sticking up drying out on the hillside

see the smoke outside?

Some intense games of spoons were played

No hands

the dried out beds revealed things from old boats...or garbage left by lake dwellers

T posing is the boys new move...
