Shasta Lake 2017

Our annual family trip was once again on Lake Shasta. We enjoyed a week of swimming, fishing, lounging, and just overall fun. It was Emmett's first year on the boat and I was a little worried about basically living on a lake with a one year old, but he actually survived. He lived in his life jacket for a week and to have a break from that he was in his pack and play.

Our trip was planned during the solar eclipse where it felt like the whole world was descending on Central Oregon. Or at least you would think that with how much hype it drew. Anyways we enjoyed our view from the lake.

Both of my brothers were able to make it, along with both my sisters. Of course all the cousins were there too!

This trip felt especially long for the boys and I, because we started before the trip going camping at the California caboose lodging and campground. Then we ended going at staying at my Dad's house for a couple days and going to the Waterworks park there in Redding, California.

On the houseboat time kind of slips away and is totally irrelevant. It is almost like rafting with as much prep and planning goes into it. However, on the houseboat you get to also soak in a hot tub under the stars and eat ice cream!

The pictures are all jumbled up, and there may be some repeats, but they mostly speak for themselves....

We anchored in a cove where we could hike to some human waterfalls. We did this once before, but not everyone went. This year everyone, but my dad, went on the hike.

Emmett is a natural fish. He loves the water.

We all became paddleboard masters

Daddy giving Mommy a ride back to the boat after the hike.

Grandpa singing to Emmett

We plan meals out where we each make food for a day, this was my puff pancake morning.

Catfishing

Watching the eclipse and relaxing on the top deck.

My Dad floating around

This deer would not leave us alone...it almost walked onto the boat.

Sitting watching each other take turns down the slide. It really was beautiful there

Emmett watching everyone play in the water...

I love how they all end up plugging their noses before they hit the water...not that I blame them

Fishing in the twilight

if you have brothers...you understand this

stopped in traffic when we got back into Oregon

around Dunsmir is a little hike to a waterfall that we go on each time we pass it...pretty much. The kids can play right in the creek and behind the falls

Jen and her crew went to In n out burger on the way back to Oregon, while we headed to my Dad's to spend another couple days

after a few rounds in the lazy river this little guy went to sleep...

A new place to eat when we get off the houseboat.

Our favorite place that we ALWAYS ate at after the houseboat trip closed...sad times.
