Oregon Zoo Summer 2017

While August was at church camp, Brent and I took the opportunity to take Emmett to the Oregon Zoo. It was nice to only have one of the kids while walking around the zoo. We took our time and even rode the zoo train. Over half of the train tracks were closed down and it was so sad to see how small and pathetic the train ride has become. Still Emmett loved being on a train.

Daddy helped him use the log slide a few times.

The petting zoo was nice for Emmett. He was able to get up close and observe. He would slowly reach out and pet and then retract his hand quickly in. He wasn't quite sure about touching the goats, but he sure liked just watching them eat.

Emmett took a ride on the carousel. He was not that happy to have to get off.

All aboard!

After the train ride and walking over half of the zoo area on his own, it was time to get in the stroller and relax...

It was fun getting misted by the simulated ocean spray.
Then we made our way to the penguins, who were particularly social this day. He was thoroughly entertained.

We ended our time at the zoo after a quick walk through the African Rainforest. I really wanted a picture of Emmett next to the BATS sign. Since I have a picture of each of the other boys by the sign. I was devastated to find out that they replaced the sign. It no longer says BATS. It says African Rainforest. So that is what we got a picture with....
