Jumbled amount of miscellaneous happenings from 2018 follows in the next 300 images or so...
Literally right before we left for the houseboat trip this past year, Brent arranged for Laurie to come up here and visit. This was a little stressful, since I use the living room as a staging area before big trips. And I also like to play the hostess with the most-ess. Anyways it all worked out and it was wonderful seeing them after so long.
Laurie, Vanessa, and Ruth were so fun to have here. We went to some parks, played some games and in our yard, and ate good food.
So while they were visiting we received a large package addressed to our 2 year old. We were weirded out by this...asked around and tried to figure out if it was someone we knew that ordered something for Emmett. We weren't going to open it until we solved the mystery. Then finally my mom fessed up about buying Emmett a motorbike.

A quick visit to Portland visiting our favorites
On the way home from Portland, stopped by the fish farm in Rhododendron and caught us some dinner.
I think the guy was new, cause this time they charged us so little for each of the fish and they were pretty big guys around 16" and bigger. I cooked them when we got home and we enjoyed their fish all the more because they had caught them.
Checked out a new cute little lake near our house.
It was great and had some nice campsites, and the trail around the whole lake was a nice 45min to an hour walk.

Nothing really prepares you for your child to start dating. And in this case he met her at church camp and has a long distance relationship. Still, it is hard to get used to. No matter how normal and appropriate, and natural it is. I know he is 18 and I need to start mentally preparing myself for a lot. I am so glad my kids are so amazing.
