Easter 2017

Easter is one of those holidays I much prefer spend at home and being family focused. Like Christmas, somehow going out in public sometimes the magic is worn off. The purpose and reason behind the holiday gets lost. That being said, this year we decided to go check out one of the local farms egg hunts. Brent had heard about it from someone. They did hunts dependent on age. We liked that. We thought that this would let August be able to enjoy himself. There were several little things they had there, like petting zoo, train ride, vendors, and honey for sale.

When we got there the older boys kind of took off and did their own thing. We took Emmett and August around to play and explore.

This was a giant wooden slide that didn't really slide much at all. There were pieces of burlap up top that you were supposed to sit on, but Brent still couldn't get a good scoot going. Emmett started getting a little frustrated.

This was the hunt for Emmett's age group of 4 and under. The eggs just laid on the grass in plain sight. Perfect.

Then we took August to his hunt.

The Easter Bunny came over and gave a little speech, including the rules for the hunt. Then the kids were set loose. The eggs were a little more hidden this time. There was a special golden egg that gave the finder a special prize. It was meat from  a whole pig.

August wasn't that impressed with the egg hunt, but he loved running around the farm. All in all it was a nice little outing, but we will spend most future holidays at home...at least for now.
