Newberg and a Graduation

Brent went on a trip with ALL of the boys to Nevada to go to Jackie's graduation...but I had class and to get ready for my finals so I stayed.
This was the first trip Brent had been on like this, where he had all three of the boys for that many days...without me.
It was weird.

Still, I got to go to Newberg and attend my nephew Abram's graduation MINUS a bunch of kids.
That was nice.
The morning of his graduation we walked into town to eat at the Newberg bakery. It is great.
They have amazing quiche and homemade bagels to die for...

It was equally amazing getting to walk through the orchards like we used to when we lived there...

We got the last pieces of quiche, scones, bagels, and cinnamon rolls....

Stopped by to splash in the fountain...

I tried to throw Ely in too...

We went back to Carleen's house and got all ready for the graduation.
It was the FIRST graduation the school has ever had.

 Abram was so nervous.
He doesn't like to be the center of attention.
Each kid had a video collage play while the Pastor read a little blurb the parents had written about them.
I helped Carleen write Abrams blurb.

Each kid had a personalized certificate of what they are voted to "most likely to..." do.

His Graduation Blurb:

"Abram truly is a miracle. Born 2 and 1/2 months early weighing 1lb 12oz there was very little hope of a normal life. After several brain bleeds and emergency procedures the doctors said he would never walk, never talk, and that his quality of life would be poor. They could not have been more wrong.
Through a lot of hard work and perseverance he defied all odds and has become the amazing resilient young man we have the privilege of knowing and loving today. Abram is strong, caring, compassionate and astounds us everyday. We thank the Lord for allowing us to have him in our lives and we are so fortunate for the opportunity to experience this journey with him."

They had two cakes.
There was only two seniors in the class and they voted to share their graduation with the 8th graders. They said they wanted to "be together, because that is how it always is"

So proud of him.
He's worked so hard.

We had a little food...

Later Abe's graduating class all went to Oaks Park to celebrate.
Carleen and I went to the store to get some stuff for our dinner.

 Misc. pics from my phone

Sister time is always fun!
