After planning and saving we finally made it to Disneyland.
I drove to Northern California with the boys from our home.
We drove straight to my Dad's house and Brent met us there.
I was super excited to have gone over 100 miles on one tank of gas...
I averaged almost 56 miles to the gallon on the way down there.
August was super happy to play with Papa's chickens. It makes me excited to get some of our own.
I have planning that too!
Visiting with my dad and cousins was great.
There was only one slight regret with the whole trip. My camera.
I decided to NOT lug around my camera this trip.
The last trip to Disneyland I barely pulled my camera out of the bag because it big and gets heavy after carrying it around all day. This trip I borrowed my sisters little Nikon point and shoot camera.
Sadly, it did not take the best pictures AND the little plastic latch broke the second day.
I tried to take pics as much as I could, mainly with my phone.
Besides that, the whole entire thing was MAGICAL.
Found my Dad's old mug from the office!
Got to approach Mt. Shasta from a different highway than I-5.
Mitch in the front seat on the way to Grandpa's house.
He was sleeping in style.
We finally made it to the hotel and the kids were excited to check it out.
The bunk beds were a definite highlight for August.
Brent and Mitch went and shopped for some of our perishables, while I got the other two ready for bed and made our lunches for the morning.
They came back and it was soo late I felt bad. They brought us Red Robin. We ate and tried to sleep before the big day at the park.
We got up and got ready. August didn't really know what to be excited about yet, and the other two are kind of adopting the been-there-done-that attitude.
Until we got close enough to see Tower of Terror anyways...
The first ride the boys VOTED on riding was Space Mountain.
I started getting kind of nervous about August's reaction. I know he loves roller coasters, but this one was in the dark. He doesn't really like the dark.
I told him what to expect. I tried to prepare him. As we were able to walk almost directly onto the ride I could tell he was excited, but had NO idea what to expect.
Needless to say, he loved it.
We then hit the ground running. We tried to do all the things that the boys wanted to do. Star Tours, Buzz lightyear, Finding Nemo, Splash Mountain, the list goes on...
It was an epic First DAY.
We headed back to the hotel around close and tried to shower, eat, and get ready to experience California Adventure in the morning.
Grace has the same Owl blanket. She loves it. Oh what a magical day. We're saving up right now and hope to go this fall. Even with a point a shoot you got some great pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh and I love Mt. Shasta.
