Tuesday it felt like we hit the ground running.
The cousins were out at the house until noon.
My morning was spent unpacking, doing laundry, and getting ready for our after noon fun before soccer. Brent relaxed and played with the boys.
The kids played out in the yard with water balloons and hoses.
After the cousins left for Portland we headed over to the library.
Brayden had needed to read 10 chapter books this summer and he was in need of some material.
We also got Mitchel his library card.
After the library we headed up the road to the Ochoco reservoir.
I had been here a few times, but Brent has never been.
We walked around the entire thing and picked out a good spot to play in the water.
We found the fish gutting station.
This is about the time August decided to let Woody "fly".
I was laughing at the picture and then he wanted to see it. Once he saw the first one he wanted to keep taking more and more pictures of him throwing Woody up in the air.
He kept throwing him higher and higher in the air, until Woody almost landed on his head!
Then he was all done "flying" Woody.
We left the reservoir and headed to the boys soccer games.
The schedule was changed without our knowledge so August did NOT have a game and Mitchel did NOT have a game. It was only Mitchel's practice. August's game was switched to Thursday. Mitchel's game was switched to Wednesday.
This news blew a hole in our plans. Wednesday was the only day we were going to have NO soccer. We were going to drive over to see Crater lake. It is about 2.5hr drive from where we are. So close yet so far. During Mitchel's practice we talked about what we would want to do instead of driving to Crater Lake while Brayden and August rolled down the hills.
For dinner we decided to break in our fire pit, which Brent purchased last summer and we just never took out. The boys were excited to make hot dogs/chili dogs and smores.
Cosmo was happy too!
These boys are pretty messy so he got a lot of "left overs".
Then to end the night the boys showed Dad how cool it is to have a trampoline.
(Dad thinks it takes up too much yard and would prefer we DO not have one)
I think it is worth it. The kids LOVE having a trampoline.
So, by the end of the night we had a few ideas we kicked around.
Madras swim center, hiking Smith Rock, or checking out Ka nee ta the hot springs near us...
We had not made a decision when we drifted off to sleep!
And like Lynyrd Skynyrd says Tuesday's gone!
