In the true Olson family tradition we were invited to a birthday party 24hrs before the party was supposed to take place. Thank goodness we were actually making the 3hr drive in to Portland anyway, so we were able to attend.
Jordan turning 14!
A BBQ at Uncle Jay's house.
We got all pretty and ready for the party!
The kids are having fun playing with some of the features of my camera...
Bray called this my instant tan.
August loves going to Uncle Jay's house.
He has blackberry, plum, pears, grapes and grass fed beef hamburgers.
Jay has always had a special way of decorating and making a place festive.
I have to say he is stepping it up a notch...
And here is the Birthday boy...eating ALL the strawberries.
Jordan's long time friend brings out the cake.
After he blew out those candles Shannon realized that they were not the special "14" candles she had bought him. So lucky Jordan got to hear "Happy birthday" sung to him again.
The cake was huge, with layer upon layer of filling...
Look at this thing!
The next day on the way home from picking up Brayden from camp we stopped by Max and Becca's to drop off some toys that my niece has grown out of.
It was one of those things where Max literally got back to me right as I was passing the exit to his house.
Almost like one of those psychic moments.
It was great to have some baby holding time.
We arrived around the same time as the missionaries that come and help out with the yard work and property tasks.
I think August was trying to sing to him.
(Poor Miles)
Then bray took some wonderful pictures, and continued to play with the cameras features.
See how everyone is glowing here... |
the drawn Charlie |
It was almost a billion degrees and the boys still wanted to play in the car and blast this music.
It was cute how Charlie climbed right in and got excited to be in the car too!
I just wish it was veggie tales or something a little less rowdy (than Brittany Spears).
When I stay at my sister's house in Tigard, I usually watch Ella.
Ella is a toy Chihuahua.
As you can see she loves to snuggle.
I almost hated waking August up to go get Bray from camp...
One of Bray's favorite things at camp now is the "big" swing.
Upon arriving home, I found a disassembled trampoline.
Our trampoline is at my sister Carleen's house.
She was using it while we lived in places that would not accommodate trampoline, but her kids use it all the time and I just never wanted to take it from her even when we had a yard that was accommodating.
Lucky us though, there was someone in the family giving one away.
My mom had brought it home and it only needed a new mat, which she also had purchased, and all of it was waiting for me there.
Let me tell you, putting a trampoline together by yourself is hard work!!!
But, I did it!!!
the sprinkler found its way under it and they jumped for 2 hrs...Until soccer practice.
Soccer practice was cut short due to he thunder storms.
that didn't stop August from going out there and jumping in the rain as soon as we got home.
Now we are just waiting to get Mitch from camp and then we get to have some beach fun, and some exploring our own area. The grand finale of our summer!
