Christmas Lights

After the Zoo Lights flop we ended up going to the Queen Anne Victorian Mansion in North Portland. Brayden did not want to come, so he stayed at Jen's with Tyler and Grandma.
That left Grandpa, Breanna, Jen, August and I making the trek over to North Portland to the Mansion.
It actually ended up being a pretty cool place.
Unfortunately they charged a small fee to go in, but after seeing most of their lights it probably helps pay their electric bill for the month.
I would have taken so many more pictures, but I was being pulled by August. Or running after August...
It was an awesome old house. With so much history to it.

Jen and Brea at the entrance. My Dad paying our entrance fees. Thanks Dad!
As we first walked into the yard this is what we saw...
August tried to ignore the fact there were paths! He finally got the hang of it.
When he walked into this gazebo he was so excited.
He said "Look mom its like true loves first kiss"!
I'm thinking it reminded him of Shrek.

These mechanical deer were all moving and glowing around the yard. They were drinking from the blue light river...

 Again, Christmas lights galore!
It was awesome. Then there was the little out building with trains and refreshments.
Jen had printed off coupons for a free drink. There was hot cocoa, cider, and coffee.
Along with small snacks and a North Pole little building for kids to play in.

All of the Christmas trees were so awesomely decorated...

August had a hard time keeping his hands to himself. Which of course made going INTO the house that much more fun.

I think we cam in the wrong door, but it was beautiful. All the wood work was awesome.
Just like in my dream house it had several Christmas trees in each room. Many were flocked (reminding me of my sweet Grandma Dorothy)
From the foyer to one of the sitting rooms there were trees and themes.
My Dad and Jen got some pictures of August and I. I will add them once I get them from them...Breanna looks so old now. I just can't believe how fast time goes by...

This tree in one of the upstairs room was very reminiscent of my Aunt Barbs tree. It was soo thick with ornaments. Some of them moved. The ice rink sitting under the tree also had moving parts that also played music...
In one of the bedrooms upstairs this tree was gorgeous. Very girly though...

Then in the adjoining room there was this upside down tree. On the top was a little Christmas village. A unique idea...
August liked this tree and had a hard time keeping his hands off of the long spiral ornaments.

I enjoyed the bathroom decor too! As we walked through the house listening to the crooks and creaks, I was reminded why I LOVE old Victorian style houses.

This was the Fourth floor (attic style room)
The ceiling was blue with white clouds. It seemed to be used as a game room. As in most of the corners there were card tables and family style board games. Breanna was excited to see they had Jumanji there!
In one of the coves that overlook the yard this AMAZING tree was spinning slowly with changing lights. All of the glitter and feathers this was definitely a DIVA tree if I've ever seen one.

I bought this card one time! It was the actual Thomas Kincade oil painting. Right there in the stairwell.

August had to have a second go at the train. He absolutely loved watching it go in and out of the tunnels.

As far as Christmas lights go this place was great. I love Christmas lights. We usually do Peacock Lane and Zoo lights, but it is nice to know there are other places out there to go be immersed in Christmas.

  1. "True Love's First Kiss!" That had me laughing! Also, that place is amazing and looks way more decked out than Pittock Mansion!
