Emmett turned 2 - May 2018

May of 2018, Emmett turned 2 years old.
It had been a kind of crazy day and he did not have a nap until late into the afternoon. Getting up groggy from his nap, grandma thought she would ease his grumpiness with a sucker...unfortunately it interfered with the cake portion of the party. Much like his first birthday, we just had a small gathering.

Unlike the series of pictures that follow will depict, Emmett really is the easiest going little thing. He has his moments (like anyone), but overall he is a sweet tempered little boy.

Someone was trying to talk him into handing over his sucker...

As we sang and brought in the cake he decided he was not happy about it. He grabbed the plate and tipped over his cake...

We decided to try that again...

My personal favorite from the day...

As we started singing again, he went in to full on fit mode. He screamed as long as we sang.

He calmed down but would not be bothered to blow out the candle.

...so the candle burned for a long time.

He finally put down the sucker and started to enjoy his cake.

Then we opened presents and enjoyed a happier little man.
