It turned out that the day of my graduation from Oregon
State University, it was also Danika’s graduation party. I had already elected
to skip my graduation due to Emmett being so new and the duration of the
graduation…but it was still a little sad. I kept getting alerts from all my
friend’s posting pictures and it made me a little sad that I did not attend. I
was happy to be able to celebrate someone else graduating college. Danika and was attending OSU in Corvallis and she and I
had the same major in Human Development and Family Science. It is hard to
believe that she is so big. I remember her being this little sassy girl and now
she is this grown woman.
Danika’s party was at the Raccoon Lodge. We had been there
just a year before at Spencer’s high school graduation party. It was good to
see most of the family and introduce Emmett. He was almost a month old by then.
Jordan and Mitch were playing their Kendama games. A wooden
ball that swings around on a string and you try to catch it on the tip of this
mallet shaped handle. Anyways, they had fun catching up. August was running
around in the grass making friends. I only had to leave the party twice to
nurse, so that was nice. Emmett is such a chill baby. So relaxed and happy most
of the time.
We stayed for quite awhile and visited with everyone. Again,
these little times when we get together are special because Brent’s family
usually only gets together for the major holidays.
