After going to Frog Lake with Brent and Mitchel we knew that
August would love to hang out there. On one of my trips back to Portland I
decided to stop at Frog Lake with all the boys…
I know it would have been that much better if we had Dad
there with us, but I also know that Dad’s days off are usually packed with
things we need to get done.
So I and my FOUR boys (still is weird saying) played for
several hours at the lake. For some reason I am always nervous about doing
things like this alone with the boys. Something about being out in the middle
of nowhere (or on Mt. Hood) makes me nervous. I always think, what if
_________________ happens. What would I do? How am I going to handle this?
(Mitchel stop laughing, I am not over reacting) As the boys have gotten older
it has been easier. We get to have a different kind of fun than when they were
small.
August explored around the water capturing so many frogs.
Bray got bored quick and decided to read. Mitch helped me with August and
Emmett.
I had packed a nice little picnic lunch. We ate, played, and
laughed. It was perfect (except for missing Dad).
We decided we wanted to try and camp there next summer. A
little overnighter. The water is nice and warm and shallow enough to walk
across in some parts. Brayden hiked up his shorts and walked all the way
across. Mitch took August on a mini walk halfway around the lake.
Perfect. Day.
