Hikes with Dad

My Dad was in town for the Thanksgiving week.
It was SUPER nice having him here to spend so much time with.
We did a lot of activities.
The first couple days we took a couple fun hikes.
The first hike Brent was able to go on with us.
It was raining and fall was in its full glory, so we went to a place with a lot of tree cover, the Tualatin Valley Hills Nature Center

The next day we went to Champoeg State Park...
The museum was open and we learned a lot.
Like Champoeg was a competitor of Portland and Salem as far as trade and population, however great floods led to the end of the town.
It has a lot of great history.
Plus, for a first time camp for kids it is right outside of Newberg and Sherwood so it is super close and convenient.  Brent and the boys camped there with Justin and Papa years ago.
 They fished and everything.
But, this day we just walked.

Abram is ridiculously tall now!

There was some disagreement on which way to go...we went the way August ran.

Beautiful "Day Area" with disc golf players out and about in this rain

In the distance between the trees you can see the deer eating in the meadow

We found more of these guys too

The slugs were out with a vengeance. The one pictured above left a huge slim trail.
This one below was huge. I used my shoe to give it some reference.
