Oaks Bottom hike

On Sunday we decided to go on a little hike. I tried to find something in town that was "new" to my Dad. I have taken him to several hike/placess in the area:
  • Tryon Creek
  • Crystal Springs Rhododendron
  • Fanno Creek
  • Around Washington Park
  • Rose Garden
  • Multnomah Falls
  • etc...
It was time to try something different.
We went on a trail I hadn't been on since middle school...Oaks Bottom.

It was NOTHING like I remembered it. There was a lot of green it was nice.

August kept picking up these "heart" shaped leaves for me...

We found two fuzzy caterpillars.

Some artwork to admire while on the trail

August found several slugs

In the distance was Oaks Park (where August's bday party was) You could make out the Ferris wheel

There were some pretty noisy ducks swimming around...

Teeny tiny mushrooms

I am so thankful my Dad loves to be outside more than anything. We can always do lots of activities when he is in town because he wants to be going and doing.
Not to mention it is FALL.
My favorite time of year.
Being surrounded by all these beautiful trees...(unfortunately it was all ducks colors (green and yellow)) I love walking.

Poor August was dead on his feet by the end.
He was woken up at 7am, and with daylight savings that wouldn't have been so bad, but he likes to sleep in until 9am usually...

I am excited to see what this winter brings.
I am also getting really excited for Thanksgiving!
