Soccer: Update

Well the soccer saga continues...

Brayden and Mitchel have one game a week and two practices, while August had two games a week.
This past weekend we got to have his soccer tournament. The grand finale of U5 soccer teams.
Let me just say, I was not expecting it to be an ALL day event.

First, here are some pictures of Bray at his game.

Then the very next day we got to get up and do it all over again.

We had August's tournament. I had no idea what this meant. Usually only the two best teams would go head to head at the end of the season.
We arrived at the field by 10am. No one else arrived until about 10:15, but the first game was supposed to start at 10:30.
Apparently for the U5 soccer teams it was a double elimination.
Meaning that each of the six teams had to play until they lost two.
We won our first four games, but that last one was insane.
Double elimination for four year olds is just crazy.
It was over 90 degrees and we were playing soccer from 10:30 until noon.
 And then 1:00pm until 3:30.
The last game was torture. The kids were so tired. They were all crying and laying in the field. Poor sweaty little lava bugs!

After two games we were able to take a little break.
We tried to drop by the Fall Festival that was going on in town, but we only stayed a few minutes because the kids were so hungry.

Personally I do not think that last game was even fair.
Our kids were so tired and had to play consecutive games, where other teams had long periods in between. Still, they got some cool necklaces and lots of treats.
And, I think he still would play again.

Even if we all got a little sunburnt!

And now we are just left to finish out Brayden and Mitchel's soccer seasons.
If the weather lets us. This week got pretty rainy one after noon!
