We did it!
This last weekend while in Portland we drove to the infamous Voodoo doughnuts just like Brent wanted.
And after going, standing in line and tasting their doughnuts I have to say...what is the big deal?
I guess the novel toppings and unique unkempt employees may attract some. Maybe I just was expecting some WOW doughnuts, I mean even Krispy Kreme has em warmed up?!
Anyways, the kids thought it was great.
They were uber excited to pick out their doughnuts.
Brent knew exactly what they would get too. Before we went he pulled up their website and looked through their selection. He said "I know which donut August will get."
I smiled, and humored him when he said the "gum" one.
I believed it would be one of the voodoo guys, or something more flashy...
needless to say I was WRONG and Brent was RIGHT.
August picked the "gum" one and Bray wanted to try the Texas challenge
(a donut 6x the normal size, if you eat it in like 80 seconds they give you your $ back)
Instead Bray chose one of the Voodoo guys.
Before our trip to Voodoo, we had a nice family lunch at Gustav's.
The boys enjoyed some fondue and Bray lucked out and clam chowder was the soup of the day.
We then got some 31 flavors and headed back to play some Super Nintendo.
All in all it was a super fun Saturday.
I am so thankful I have the most wonderful guys in the world universe!
I get my hair brushed and foot massage while eating ice cream and relaxing...ahh so lovely.

*side note*
This weekend I also got to book the boys for the first father/son camp that Trout Creek Bible Camp is hosting in April. Brent is super excited, it will be cool for Bray and Mitch to go together too.

Before heading to Portland I had ART class...
On the way there I took some pictures of the frost that was covering everything.
My FINAL squirrel. I was finally able to use all of my tools, to add detail...
The two other I did. One right side up and the other upside down
August waiting to be seated at Gustav's.
He really wanted a "hot dog" and Brent and I really wanted fondue...
In all of his restaurant behavior glory, going straight to the silverware to pound and make grunting noises like Frankenstein (or so he says...) Notice the glass behind him, just enough room for him to chat up the ladies trying to enjoy their lunch.
Poor Mitch, missing out on cheesy goodness. Bray really enjoyed the different breads.
Brent, so handsome in the afternoon sun!
And then, waiting at voodoo after we finally in the door...(actually we didn't have to wait that long)
I wanted to take more photos but there were people everywhere. It was hard to take any pics without having my camera in someones face.
The boys checking out the doughnuts in the case...
See that guy with the pretzel in his head?!
That is the one Bray wanted...
My guys outside the pink building...
Because good things come in pink boxes
Notice where the pretzel is in the one they gave him!
He was a little weird-ed out...
Brays face after reluctantly eating the pretzel.
And then our afternoon of R&R with Super Mario World...
Brent can take Bomber Man super serious...I just love sitting around him, messing with him trying to break that serious face.
I am not good at that game. I end up blowing myself up by planting bombs
and then walking into them.
That's right
{PJ's in the afternoon~ don't judge :}
Mama's about to show em how it's done
August makes pancakes when we get home...
He is becoming quite the pancake maker.
Ever since Slappy Cakes experiences, our pancakes have to BE something now.
He got pretty creative making this pancake monster guy...
He told a whole story while pouring the batter out.
It's like pancake art...
BOOM
2014 has already started out awesome...
Keep it up year!
