John Day July 2019

Brent was unable to go to the John Day river spot with us during the family rafting trip this year, so we planned to go back as soon as we could.

We got up early, loaded the car and headed out.

When we got there, there were a lot of people and cars at the top. This was surprising to me because we have generally gone during the week when there has been no one. So we went up the road a little to the boat launch and started driving down. We saw there was a small loop with what looked like campsites with picnic tables. A little further down there was even a toilet and some more camping spots.

We picked a spot and made our way down to explore a different part of the river. It was still a fantastic time. The river is so warm. The kids had a blast. We did miss having Mitchel with us...

In the middle of the river was a little rock that acted as a natural waterslide.

My swimsuit was dying the water hot pink...even though I have washed this thing a million times...

As the sun started to descend we started to pack up and get ready to head home.
It was the best day on the river!
