Bubble Run 2019

This year we decided to partake in another 5k run that we have done a few times before...the Bubble Run. Unlike the obstacle course races, bubble and color runs only have check points of fun and it is straight running.

We decided against bringing the stroller so Emmett was doing the whole 3.1 miles independently (or with limited stents of being carried).

We were accompanied by Jen, Brea, Max, Becca, and cousins. We met early in the morning ready to run! It was cold-ish, but we knew soon we would be sweating...

There are always fun booths and random swag at these events, they had the airbrushed hats that we had missed out on last month at the Rugged Maniac run. So we stood in line and got Emmett an airbrushed hat.

We then headed to the start line and waited for our turn to get started.
Emmett was a lot older, but it was pretty early for him still. I was a little worried he may not feel completely up to the run.

Walking through a wall of bubbles, where you can't see your child is a little disconcerting, but Brent kept tight hold of Emmett's hand. He loved it.

We were taking a little longer than we usually would take due to Emmett's short legs. Max and his crew went on ahead.
Brea had to be at work and so Jen, Brea, Bray, August, and Elysia went ahead.
Eventually the three of us made it to the finish line.

Thankfully our cousins waited for us to play and have some bubble fun together.

We also indulged ourselves with some shaved iced!

We will most likely do this race again in the future as it seems to be a favorite among the boys. The more I do these the more I focus less on the time or the act of running, but more on the journey and the fun we have at the check points. We thoroughly enjoy our time together on these races and experiencing them together.
