A Walk on Mt. Bachelor

Another AMAZING thing about living in Central Oregon is all of the fun nature centered activities that they offer in way of field trips at the school and recreation centers.
When you live a little over a half an hour drive to several awesome mountains, why not have a field trip there to discuss geographical location and wildlife with the students?!

So, Brayden's class got to go on a fun field trip this week.
Like most (if not all) of the field trips the kids have, Brent went with him.
It is practically a tradition for Brent to attend the field trips.
I usually have not gone due to my job. When I worked at a school it was hard to take time off to go on field trips with my own kids and Brent really loves to be able to spend that time with the boys.
Plus (for some reason) most of the field trips they only take ONE parent per family...crazy.
(exception being ice skating when Mitch was in first grade. Brent, Bray and I got to go)

Bray, you were so excited to go on a nature walk on Mt. Bachelor with your Dad,
and to try snowshoeing. You kept reminding him of the field trip daily for about a week...

Brent and I have talked about going snow shoeing before, so this was a great way for him to  experience it to assess how much we'd enjoy it. Sounds like we would!

Bray, you took most of the pictures. Since you love to be creative
(that may be why we purchased you your own video camera a while ago before you were 7).
Here are some photos of the bus ride...notice the artistic quality in his work...

You even took a video of the bus ride...
Loud and chaotic everything a bus ride should be
With a guide leading them, a parade of Fourth graders made their way along Mt. Bachelor stopping every now and then to hear the ins and outs of the area.

In true Brayden style, he narrates in song how he's feeling on his walk.
Even though in the video you say (sing about how) you don't like it,
when you got home Bray you said it was awesome and you had a really fun time.

Needless to say, both my guys were pretty tired by the time they arrived home.

I was glad Brent was able to make another memory with Brayden.
