It is sad when the term comes to the end of a class you really enjoy.
Over the last few weeks we have focused on value, line, fore ground and background, space, contrast...
Here are my latest works:
We got to use the mannequins and arrange the lighting and create a scene. Me and my partner Johnathan had fun trying to put our guy in interesting positions. It was pretty challenging. We got pretty familiar with Chinese take out boxes and Styrofoam cups.
We learned about cubism and had to try and draw the concept of an image from all angles. I got to try and do this with a hammer...
This has been my least favorite assignment to date!
I never finished my cubism stuff, but that's what is for homework this week, we'll see how I fair..
This was when she gave us one word and we had to draw without words, symbols, or outlines (just using line) what that word was for us.
the words was earthquake |
the word was anger |
this was the first one, the word was flight |
the top pic the word was isolation, the bottom one the word was community |
isolation |
community |
We had to learn about positive and negative shapes, so this was us trying to look at a bunch of arranged vases and cups and see only the positive or negative shapes (what's around them, or what shapes the objects themselves make)
We worked with lines, and doing line drawings for awhile...we had to draw shoes
Here are some more of the Chinese take out boxes, and then to paper bags...
We worked with form and spacing, I drew some pears...
Then we got to use some value.
The pears really helped me understand value....
These drawings were done with NO looking. We had to do "blind contour drawing" it was funny.
Then we had to go outside find sticks, or twigs and draw using ink and our 'handmade' pens
Blind contour drawing of a sink |
Drawn with ink and my HANDMADE pen |
racoon skull |
geez these little guys are harder to draw than I thought... |
I got bored and drew my bookshelf in my living room |
UGH, another cubism picture of a "hamer" I didn't finish it because I spent time on a different one...(before I gave up and started this one on a smaller scale) |
Okay, it won't let me rotate this bad boy the right way, so use your imagination to see it the right side up...
I am getting closer to my final, which should be a pretty fun piece.
Love the work of art.
