Swan Island Dahlia Festival with My Girls

My sisters and I go on a lot of adventures together. Often I let them drag me places that I haven't been, or I am the one doing the dragging. Mostly we just enjoy each other tremendously and like to be there for novel experiences. We've done the tulip festival and this year Jen had been planning on going to the Dahlia festival.
We drove out near Canby and made our way to the pretty flowers. Jennifer's favorite flowers.
They had live music, gift shops, face painting, and food carts.

August was a little bit of a party pooper this day. He had his NOT listening ears on. So Carleen wore Emmett for me so that I could chase after August accordingly.

The first place we went was into their showroom with over 400 floral displays. August was frustrated and went around hitting some flowers so he and I actually sat outside in a time out for this part. Too bad cause what I did see was very pretty.

When then headed outside to enjoy the live music and walk the fields. Unlike the tulip festival you can not walk in the rows between the flowers. After listening to some live music the kids decided they would like their faces painted. The line was pretty long so we walked over and all got smoothies first. Then stood in line with our treats and waited for the face painting.

 Found my flower!

It was an awesome day. There were little details that made the kids day. The mini umbrellas in the smoothies, the caramel popcorn, and of course cousin time (notice Brayden and Abram were not really with us at all). Love these times with my girls. Especially these weird little festivals that are all over the state. Still need to make it to the elephant garlic festival, come to think of it!
As for now I JUST Can't wait for the pumpkin patch!
